Kyran has been making music since he was a child; he has over a decade of experience behind a drum set and several years’ experience teaching professionally. Kyran’s playing is inspired most by incredible, albeit underrated modern drummers such as Larnell Lewis, Benny Greb, Nate Smith, Yussef Dayes, JD Beck and Greyson Nekrutman.
Kyran was brought up on classical, jazz and 80s/90s R&B courtesy of his parents. The music he plays on the drums has changed over time, but right now he focuses on Big Band and Early Jazz, anywhere from Count Basie to Buddy Rich to Herbie Hancock, as well as modern funk and soul along the lines of Vulpeck, Tower of Power and Incognito. Additionally, Kyran is always coming back to artists such as John Mayer, Snarky Puppy, Queen, Mark Guiliana, Sleeping at Last and Daniel Caesar.
Outside of this, he is currently studying at University College London where he is often taking part in shows and performances across a range of genres.
